Finding us in Fisherman's Village

We are on the Bo Put side of Fisherman's Village, Bophut — the walking-street stretch along the beach road. If you are coming from the main road, head for the beachfront and look for the shopfront in the photograph above. Parking is easiest at either end of the walking street; on Friday evenings the street closes for the night market, so come on foot.

From Samui Airport it is roughly a ten-minute drive west along the north coast. Most taxi and Grab drivers know Fisherman's Village by name — it is one of the island's landmarks.

We come to you, anywhere on Ko Samui

You do not have to come to the shop at all for the first appointment. We travel to hotels, resorts and private villas across the island to measure — free of charge, including Chaweng, Lamai, Maenam, Choeng Mon, Bang Rak, Nathon and Taling Ngam, as well as Bophut itself.

A home or villa visit works particularly well for two situations: a wedding party who want to be measured together without everyone travelling, and anyone ordering several pieces who would rather look at cloth with a cup of coffee than standing in a shop. Fittings are usually quicker at the shop, but we can do those on location too.

Message us on WhatsApp with your hotel or villa name and a time window and we will confirm.

Getting here from Chaweng, Lamai, Maenam or Choeng Mon

Getting here from Chaweng, Lamai, Maenam or Choeng Mon brings you to Fisherman’s Village in Bophut, on the north coast — the shop is on the walking street at the beach end. Open the map below on your phone and it will route you from wherever you are staying.

If none of that appeals, do not make the trip. We measure at hotels and villas anywhere on the island at no charge, and for a first appointment that is usually the easier way round. Message us with where you are staying.

Before you message

Three things make the first conversation much faster: your dates — especially when you fly out; the occasion — a wedding, work, an evening, a full holiday wardrobe; and anything you already own that fits well, which you can photograph and send. With those we can have appropriate cloth pulled before you arrive.

If you are on a short trip, come as early in your stay as you can. And if you need it before you fly, the timelines are set out garment by garment so you can plan around them.

What it will cost before you come

We quote before you travel, not after you arrive. Send your dates, the garments you have in mind and a photograph of something you own that fits well, and we will come back with an itemised figure on WhatsApp — free, and with no obligation to book. That number holds when you get here, and nothing is cut until you have agreed it. What actually moves it — the cloth, the construction and the number of fittings — is set out in what decides the price.

Ordering from abroad

If you have not been measured by us before, how a first order works covers the cloth, the fittings and the timeline. Auf Deutsch: die deutsche Seite.

Already been measured by us? Your pattern and measurements are on file, so you can order again from anywhere and we will ship it. See alterations & re-orders for how that works.

Common questions

What is the fastest way to reach you?

WhatsApp, by a wide margin. Send a message saying what you want made and your dates, and we will answer quickly with what is realistic in that window. Phone works during opening hours and email is fine for anything less urgent. If you are already on the island and would rather just walk in, the shop is open daily until 23:00 and you do not need an appointment.

Do I need an appointment for a fitting?

No. Walk-ins are welcome throughout opening hours and most first visits happen that way. Messaging ahead helps if you are on a tight schedule, because we can have relevant fabrics ready before you arrive rather than starting the search when you walk in. For a wedding party or a group of several people, telling us in advance genuinely matters, because the fittings need scheduling around everyone.

Can you come to my hotel or villa?

Yes, anywhere on Ko Samui, at no extra charge. We bring the fabric books to you, measure at your hotel or villa, and return the same way for the fittings. This works well for families, wedding parties and anyone whose days are already committed. The one advantage of visiting the shop first is that it holds far more cloth than we can carry, so many people do the first visit here and the rest at their hotel.

What should I tell you in the first message?

Three things: what you want made, when you arrive and when you fly out. The dates matter as much as the garment, because they decide whether we recommend a suit, shirts or alterations. Adding a photo of a style you like or a garment you already own helps more than a paragraph of description. If you have a budget in mind, say the number and we will tell you what it buys.

Are quotes free, and is there any obligation?

Quotes are free and carry no obligation. Tell us the garment and the look you want and we will give you an exact number, in the shop or by WhatsApp from wherever you are staying. Nothing is cut until you have agreed the figure. If you want to compare against other shops on the island afterwards, that is entirely reasonable and our buyer’s guide lists the questions that make two quotes comparable.

Can I order from abroad, before or after my trip?

Yes. If you have been measured here we keep your pattern, so a later order can be arranged by message with fabric chosen over a video call and the finished garment sent on. If you have never been measured by us, we would still rather see you in person once, because a first garment is where the fit is established and that is hard to do at a distance.

What are your opening hours?

The shop is open daily from 10:00 to 23:00, including weekends. The late closing is deliberate: a lot of visitors are out during the day and the evening is when they can get to a fitting without losing beach time. If you need a fitting outside those hours because of a flight, message us and we will see what can be arranged rather than turning you away.

Is there parking, and how do I get there?

Fisherman’s Village is a walking-street area, so the practical approach is to park at the edge and walk in, or arrive by taxi or scooter as most visitors do. We are at 79/7 Moo 1, opposite the Happy Elephant restaurant. If getting here is awkward from where you are staying, the simpler answer is to let us come to you, which we do anywhere on the island at no charge.
