Realistic timelines, garment by garment
Every tailor on this island will tell you they can do it fast. Here is what fast actually means, per garment, so you can plan your trip around it rather than hoping.
Shirts — same day, sometimes hours
A made-to-measure shirt is the quickest real garment we make. Measure in the morning, collect in the evening is routine. If you want several, allow a day so the first one can be checked before the rest are cut — that one extra step is the difference between four good shirts and four identical mistakes.
Trousers — same day to next day
A single pair of trousers is fast. Add a second fitting if the seat and rise need real work, which is common if you are between standard sizes.
Alterations — same day, often while you wait
Hems, waist adjustments, sleeve shortening and taking in a jacket body are usually done on the spot. Anything structural — moving shoulders, re-cutting a chest — is a different job and we will say so.
A two-piece suit — two to four days
This is the honest window for a suit that will still fit properly in a year. It covers cutting, a fitting on the body, corrections and finishing. It can be compressed if you are truly stuck, and we will tell you exactly what gets sacrificed if we do.
Three-piece, dinner suit or a wedding party — start on arrival
More garments, more fittings, more people to coordinate. If it is a wedding, message us before you fly.
What "express" should never mean
Speed on this island has a bad reputation, and it is earned. The corners that get cut on a rushed suit are always the same ones: fused construction instead of canvas, no real fitting, seam allowance trimmed away so the garment can never be altered later, and glue where stitching belongs.
For the honest version of the timeline, how long a suit takes sets out where the days actually go.
A suit made in eight hours can look excellent in the shop mirror and hang badly within a month. We would rather tell you that a garment cannot be done well in your window than take the order and hand you something that disappoints you in Manchester or Munich three weeks later. If your timeline genuinely does not fit, we will say so — and usually suggest shirts now and a suit on your next visit, with your pattern kept on file.
How to get the most out of a short trip
To get the most out of a short trip, move every decision to the start of it. What a short trip rules out is deciding late, not having something made. Everything below is about moving the decisions to the start of the trip, so the days you have left are spent on fittings rather than on choosing cloth.
- Message before you arrive. Tell us your dates and what you want. We can have appropriate cloth pulled and waiting, which saves an hour on day one.
- Come on your first or second day, not your last. Everything downstream gets calmer.
- Bring a garment that fits you well — a jacket or shirt you like. It communicates more than any measurement.
- Decide the occasion before the cloth. "A suit" is a hard brief. "A suit for a beach wedding at 4pm and dinners afterwards" answers half the questions instantly.
- Book the fitting, not just the measuring. Put the second appointment in your calendar while you are standing there.
We will come to you
If your schedule is the constraint rather than ours, we will come to your hotel or villa anywhere on Ko Samui to measure — Chaweng, Lamai, Maenam, Choeng Mon, Bophut — at no extra charge. Plenty of clients do the first measuring by the pool and only visit the shop for the fitting. We are open daily 10:00–23:00, which means an evening appointment after a full day out is entirely normal.
Speed does not change the price
Working to a deadline costs you nothing extra here — there is no rush surcharge, because the constraint is the workroom’s day rather than a fee. What moves a quote is cloth, construction and the garment itself, in that order. We quote free at the fitting; what decides the price sets out all four factors.
If your flight moves
It happens. If your plans change mid-order, tell us immediately rather than at the end. Depending on the stage, we can usually either accelerate the finishing or complete the garment afterwards and ship it to you — your measurements and pattern stay on file either way, so a later adjustment or re-order is straightforward.
Moving a date earlier is the harder direction, and how much can be recovered depends entirely on whether the cloth has been cut. Before cutting, almost anything can be replanned. After cutting, the honest options are a simpler finish, fewer pieces, or finishing after you leave. We will tell you which of those you are actually choosing between rather than promising all three.

The shop is in Fisherman's Village, Bophut, open daily until 23:00. If you are staying elsewhere on the island, you do not need to travel: we offer free hotel and villa pickup and in-home consultations anywhere on Ko Samui, so a fitting can happen at your resort with the fabric books brought to you.

Common questions
Can I really get a suit made in a day in Ko Samui?
A shirt, very often yes; a full bespoke suit, honestly no. We would rather tell you that up front than take the order and hand you something badly finished. Shirts and most alterations can genuinely be same-day if you come in early. A bespoke suit realistically needs a few days: one client had two suits made in three days with two fittings a day apart and a final check on delivery day, and that is close to the sensible floor. Tell us your flight date at the first visit and we will give you a straight answer.
How fast can alterations be done?
Most straightforward alterations can be finished the same day, and simple jobs often within a few hours, provided you come in early rather than late in the evening. Taking in a waist, shortening sleeves or hemming trousers are quick; restructuring a jacket's shoulders or resizing a garment several sizes is not, and we will say so before you leave it with us. Bring the shoes you will wear with the trousers so the hem is set at the right length. See alterations and repairs for what we can take on.
When should I visit if I am on a short holiday?
Come on your first day, not your last. The single biggest cause of disappointment is arriving the evening before a flight and hoping for a suit. Visiting early costs you nothing, gives us room for a proper fitting, and means the garment can be corrected if something needs adjusting. If you are already short on time, we can prioritise shirts, which are the quickest thing we make, and arrange the suit as a re-order to be shipped to you later. We are open daily until 23:00, so an evening visit after the beach works fine.
What is the fastest thing you can make?
Made-to-measure shirts are the fastest, followed by alterations to garments you already own. One client was measured and wearing his two new shirts twenty-four hours later. After that come simple trousers, then jackets, then full suits, then structured pieces like tuxedos and heavily detailed three-piece suits. If you have a fixed deadline, tell us the date first and let us tell you what fits inside it, rather than choosing the garment first and hoping. We will always recommend the piece we can finish properly in the time you actually have.
Does rushing mean lower quality?
No, but it does mean fewer choices, and that is the honest trade-off. A fast turnaround limits which fabrics are practical and how much hand-finishing and how many fittings can fit into the schedule. What we will not do is skip the fitting stage, because that is what makes the garment fit you rather than approximately fit you. If a deadline would force us to cut corners that show, we will tell you and suggest an alternative. Can you come to my hotel to save time?
Yes, and it is often the fastest option if you are staying away from Bophut. What do you need from me to start on the same day?
Come in early, know roughly what you want, and allow about an hour for measuring and choosing cloth. Fabric choice is the step people underestimate, so looking at the range beforehand saves the most time. Tell us your flight time at the start rather than at the end. That one detail decides whether we recommend a shirt, an alteration or a full suit, and it separates a good garment from a rushed one.
Can you finish an order after I have flown home?
Yes, this happens regularly. Once you have been measured here we have your pattern, so remaining work can be finished and sent on, and repeat orders can be placed later by message with fabric chosen over a video call. It is not a substitute for a proper fitting on your first garment, which is why we would rather measure you in person once. After that, the distance stops mattering very much.
